Dental Care

At this time, we do not have a date for Dental Procedures.
Please continue to check for updates.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
Keeping and maintaining the health of your pet(s) is our priority. As such, we are very excited about adding “Pet Dental Days” to our list of services. Just as you maintain your dental hygiene, it is vital that you do the same for your furry friend. Left untreated, a number of health issues can occur. If gum disease is not treated, it can create an infection that can travel through the bloodstream. It is recommended that an annual cleaning and polishing is done along with routine health care. Gingivitis is caused when plaque builds up around the gum line (just as it does with humans) and if not regularly cleaned, it can develop into periodontal disease.

Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center Clinic offers low-cost dental cleaning services. Our routine dental includes scaling, polishing and simple extractions as needed. We do not perform surgical extractions, nor do we offer radiographs prior to the dental procedure. Services are available to cats and dogs of any age. Any pet 5 years of age and over must have blood work done and approved by our veterinarian prior to anesthesia as a safety precaution. We offer blood work services at our facility or we can accept blood work from a referred veterinarian completed within the last three months. You can email julie@homewardboundnj.org or call to schedule an appointment for blood work. Email is the preferred form of communications.

Our licensed veterinarian will examine your pet’s teeth once you arrive for your dental appointment. All exam findings and any services that may be needed (extractions, excessive tartar, etc.) will be discussed prior to the procedure and payment.

All dogs must have their Bordetella vaccine at least 2 weeks prior to the dental appointment. Documented proof must be given before any services will be provided.

To schedule your pet’s dental appointment or for any questions regarding the dental procedure, please email julie@homewardboundnj.org or call 856-401-1300 x109.
