Dental Care

Maintaining the health of your pets is our priority. As such, we are very excited to offer low-cost dental cleaning services! Just as you maintain your dental hygiene, it is vital that you do the same for your furry friend. Gingivitis is caused when plaque builds up around the gum line (just as it does with humans) and if not regularly cleaned, it can develop into periodontal disease. When left untreated, periodontal disease can also create an infection that can travel through the bloodstream. In order to keep your pet healthy, an annual dental cleaning and polishing is recommended!
We are currently running a dental cleaning special for dogs and cats 6 years of age and younger. This special includes pre-operative bloodwork, examination by a licensed veterinarian, anesthesia, and full mouth dental scaling and polishing. The total cost is $500. This dental cleaning special is not for animals older than 6, those with severe dental disease, or those that will require surgical extractions.
If you would like to schedule your pet for a $500 dental cleaning, please e-mail Val at valerie@homewardboundnj.org or call to schedule an appointment 856-401-1300 x106
For pets 7 years of age or older and/or those with severe dental disease, we have limited availability for dental cleanings. For this service, pricing will be provided after your pet's teeth are examined by our veterinarian. For any questions regarding dental cleanings for pets over 7 or those with severe dental disease, please email Julie at julie@homewardboundnj.org or call 856-401-1300 x109.
Our licensed veterinarian will examine your pet’s teeth once you arrive for your dental appointment. All exam findings and any services that may be needed (extractions, excessive tartar, etc.) will be discussed prior to the procedure and payment.
All dogs must have their Bordetella vaccine at least 2 weeks prior to the dental appointment. Documented proof of vaccination must be given before any services will be provided.
**Our clinic team will call you ahead of time before they perform extractions or to discuss excessive tartar build-up.
**Depending on the level of your pets dental disease, pain medications and antibiotics may be required.
We happily accept cash, Visa, or Mastercard. We cannot accept personal checks. There is a $4 medical waste fee per visit per animal for medical services. If you have any questions that are not answered here, please contact our clinic at clinic@homewardboundnj.org or 856-401-1300 x109!
Thank you for choosing our clinic! Our open admission animal shelter took in over 5,500 animals last year, and we can't do what we do without your support!
